My Mind has Been a Whirl

My mind has been a whirl with new recipes and ideas for a new menu we are creating at the Cafe Hon.

Since I have a great kid's menu and we were just voted one of the top 101 Things to do in Baltimore with your grand kids on Grandparents.com, I thought we would celebrate by doing Kid's under 10 eat FREE every Monday Night.

My other thoughts are: Tuesday Night Shrimp Night and Wednesday Lobster Night

I have even been thinking about doing a few cooking lessons. Or a Chef's Dinner prepared by yours truly. I love to cook, don't like to line cook but I love to create.

TEN THINGS YOU SHOULD KNOW ABOUT CAFE HON

1. We make the Best Hot Fudge on the planet. In 1992 before the internet, I was at a Gordon's Bookseller's in the Rotunda and found a Chocolate Cookbook, the cost was $40 I told them I was going to go home and make the Hot Fudge Recipe and if I didn't like it I would bring back the book. Well I kept the book and we still do that amazing recipe today.

2. I always hated store bought dressing, one day I was at my Mom's she made this wonderful lite dressing with dill from her garden. This inspired me to create the dill vinaigrette we have served for 16 years and we sell it by the bottle too. We do have a few other offerings now but the dill vinaigrette is still number one.
